I'm going to tell you stuff that I do, only because it's on my mind. With that being said I'm going to babble and sometimes I might cuss. But that's just me, I like coulorful metaphors. Oh and there might be some spelling mistakes. So here goes
First off I should tell you that I'm not suicideal my pills are working which leads my to the first thing. Why is it that we need to take these things. We're always told we are not perfect but, we take what is called medication to fix what is not perfect with our minds. Hmmm.
So this is what I do in a usual day. I wake up around six am not lately but I usualy do. Then I get up get dressed depending on the time I might come here and check my e-mail but I have what is called breakfast which is normally a bowl of ceral and my pills, cuase four of the pills I take should be taken with food and I take two of them in the morning. The other two in what's called the pm. Then I go and brush my teeth cuase we are supposed to do that. Well I brush them after I eat breakfast because they get covered in food and we brush them to clean them so I figure why brush them before breakfast they are just going to get dirty when we eat so why not after.
Then I go for coffee at the seniors complex at a certain time which is when the place opens. Meet a family member I used to meet two but it's only one right now. G-ma needs her arm to heal so she can walk. I know that sounds funny but she does. She uses a walker to help stableize her when walking. I usualy have two coffee's in the morning. One when I get there usualy a staff member get's my first one for me. Then when my uncle gets there he usualy gets my second one. Then after that home, but if it's Monday I go from the seniors place to pick up my pills for the week. Then after that I go and get my third coffee for the trip home.
Which leads me to my first thought, why is it that we eat at certain times like why not at different times. Well I know we eat at the certain times because that is when the body has used up our nutrients and we need to replace them. Now breakfast is when the time we wake up too break the fast cuase we haven't had anything since the day before. Lunch well I think at that time cuase it's convient. Then supper cuase it's almost the tine we go and sleep. I eat my meals at different times than most people. So breakfast I have at the normal time because of my pills and we first wake up. Lunch I have a half hour before the normal time that most peope have it I don't know why just do, well I'll probably tell you later. Supper I have two hours before the normal time just to be special. So I eat at 7:30ish 11:30 and 4:00.
I got off track where was I, oh yeah after I get home from coffee I usualy play on the computer till lunch then I might have something to do. Like on a typical Monday my kinese (probably spelt that wrong) usualy comes over and helps me walk and helps me with the stuff I can't do. Well I might be able to do but it would take time so I just don't do it to save me the frustration.
Then I uaualy do some choresbecause society wants us to have our living spaces a certian way. Then Tuesday well coffee as you know then go to a group session then nothing much. What I usualy do to pass time is play on the computer. You know the time between the things that are supposed to be done. Wednesday I go for a walk. Now Thursday I used to go to where my kinese works and with this other client made lunch but that doesn't happen any more. Friday I go to ths group for mental disabilties like depression, brain injury and maybe schitzophrenia Not sure though. Saturday and Sunday nothing is planned. Got off track again.
After my morning coffee wait till lunch then wait till I'm supposed to do something. Then have dinner then wait till the time to take my evening pills which is 7:00 for me I'll tell you why 7:00 later, I know your not supposed to take them till around 8:00 but I had things changed because I wanted to be special.
Now the pill thing I'm going to explain that. I try to take them at the earliest time possible, I don't know why I do well I do know why it started as a joke but became habit. Morning pills the earliest time you can take them is 7:00. Lunch tim pills don't have any so I don't know the times but supper time pills earliest is 4:00. Now bed time pills earliest is supposed to be 8:00 but I take them at 7:00, I'll get into that soon. Well at my last rehab place they were sticklers for the pill times like you couldn't take them before certain times or after certian times. like breakast time pills couldn't be taken befor 7:00 or after 9:00. Lunch I don't know cuase I don't have any at that time and dinner time pills four till six. Nite time pills 8:00 till 10:00.
Now here is why or what I do I'll tell you why after. Now morning pills I take when I have breakfast which is usualy at the normal time. My dinner time pills I take at 4:00 and my bed time pills I take at 7:00. I know, I know it's supposed to be at the earliest 8:00. I got my doctor to sign a piece of paper saying I could take the at the eariest 7:00. Which leads me into why I take the pills at the earliest times possible.
I take them early because I needed a staff member to watch me take them I think it was for leagle reasons. Well I took them early because it was a troubled time for staff to watch like with the breakfast pills they usualy watched at 8:00 then there was me the morning time for the morning pill was 7:00 till9:00 so why not get the staff to work early and take them at 7:00 which is around shift start. Now supper pills they usualy watched at five but I figured why not 4:00, it's within the rules that they had so they couln't say no. Now the bed time pills so here's thye story. I didn't like the 8;00 time and I wanted to go to bed early so I asked them if I could take them at 7:00 instead but for paper reasons or should I say leagle reasons they wouldn't let me take them till 8:00.
So I whine till they made an appointmen to see my Dr. and get him to sign a piece of paper saying it would be ok to take my bed time pills as early as 7:00. So did it. But as you know habits are hard to break so I've been taking them at 7:00 since and the reason why I wanted to take them early is because I wanted to go to brd early. That was a lot of stuff to do to get to bed early but did it. Now I don't have any one needing to watch me take the pills But I still take them at those times.
Now my bed time pills are attitude adjusters and sleeping pills. Now taken them by 7:00 I should be sleepy but no I even had them adjusted to help me get to sleep but can't sleep so I play on the computer till I think I should go to sleep. It used to be 7:00 but now I try to go to bed earlier like it's 10:30 right noe and not tired. Now your probably going to say don't have a coffee before bed been there done that didn't work moved on.
So I'm trying to change the bedtime habit still take the pills at the same time but started a new habit to go to bed later. Watch a movie starting at 6:00. So habits are watch a movie at six have popcorn which is a normal movie kind of thing to do and my usual coffee with the popcorn. Then when the movie is over go to bed after I write on here. I usualy don't write that much cuase I want to go to bed then there's tonite like it's after 10:30 and I'm still up. I should be tired cuase of the pills but, not. Maybe I'll need the alarm again. We'll see who knows.
